Ribbons
Ensure all your product labels are permanent and crisp with insignia’s range of tags, labels and ribbons. Our thermal transfer ribbons are great for labelling long-life products, and they can even withstand direct exposure to heat and sunlight – no more frustration from replacing scratched or faded labels.
Printer ribbons come in a variety of grades and types, but they all have one thing in common: they’re designed to optimise print performance and enhance your printhead’s longevity. A special coating on the back of each ribbon provides protection for the printhead, which helps our ribbon labels satisfy the stringent quality specifications set by printer manufacturers.
Wax Ribbons, Wax Resin Ribbons and Resin Ribbons
Do you have a high volume of labels to print quickly? Or are you dealing with extreme applications that require extra toughness? Either way, insignia has a ribbon to suit your needs.
Our range features:
- Wax ribbons – Inexpensive yet high-quality, these ribbons are great for general-purposes printing on paper (both coated and uncoated). The lower melting point of a wax ribbon allows for high print speeds, making this an efficient and economic choice for common applications.
- Wax-resin ribbons – With more durability and resistance to scuffs, these ribbons are ideal for labels that need to last longer. They also provide a sharper image quality on glossy paper labels and are suitable for high-speed printing.
- Resin ribbons – If your labels need to survive harsh conditions such as corrosive materials or extreme temperatures, full-resin ribbons are likely the best choice. They’re suitable for hazardous drum labels, synthetics labels, and other heavy-duty applications.

Carbon Side In vs. Carbon Side Out
We stock both carbon-side-in (CSI) and carbon-side-out (CSO) label printer ribbons. The only difference is which side is coated and which side is dull. Your label printer’s manual should specify whether you need CSI or CSO ribbons.
