PIX/AMC 2018 Recap

Earlier this month insignia exhibited at PIX/AMC 2018, billed as the biggest event in the Australian poultry and milling calendar. Focused on the theme “Supply Chain Opportunities – Farmers to Consumers”, the three-day event combined workshops with industry experts, alongside an exhibition showcasing key suppliers to these industries.

Leading professionals in the poultry, egg and milling industries spoke on a range of topics currently impacting manufacturers and producers. Speakers included Dr Kapil Chousalkar from the University of Adelaide, who discussed a consistently present concern of food safety in the poultry industry, and John Dunn from Egg Farmers of Australia, discussing the implications of the New Poultry Egg Welfare Standards and Guidelines.

In between sessions the exhibition hall was open, with exhibitors demonstrating various industry solutions including waste management, feeding solutions, and automation. In line with this year’s theme, insignia addressed traceability in the industry, with our coding experts demonstrating the Domino Ax-Series (continuous inkjet) and G-Series (thermal inkjet), the total traceability solution for egg and carton coding. Our experts also discussed food safety standard compliance, and achieving maximum uptime and reliability with inkjet technology.

Based on the key topics discussed in the conference workshops, and the overarching event theme, food safety standard compliance; automation; and traceability are still very much hot topics and key success factors for poultry, egg and milling industries.
