insignia helping graduates compete
The Winson Group graduates recently attended the second graduate breakfast event for 2018 at the Shangri-La Gardens in Wynnum. Similar to the conference held earlier in the year, the breakfast is a biannual event that gives graduates across both insignia and Signet an opportunity to connect with their peers and senior leaders across the wider business.
Starting bright and early on the Friday morning, the event kicked off with networking over tea and coffee. Prompted with some ice-breaker questions, the graduates were encouraged to step out of their comfort zones and put their networking skills to practice. It also provided the opportunity for them to continue building their internal brands, which was a key learning from their previous conference.
After the conversation settled, everyone took their seats for breakfast and a presentation from Signet’s Head of Growth Strategy, Lincoln Patterson. He shared an engaging account of his career journey to date, and how he progressed to building a career in marketing. In sharing his learnings, he shared five tips from his professional and personal experience: be the customer; be inquisitive; be brave and be braver – don’t be afraid to ask questions; be respectful; appreciate your team.
With that, another graduate breakfast came to a close. Overall, it was a very enlightening morning and the graduates left with both their minds and their stomachs full. The events held for the Winson graduate team have always been an excellent way for the graduates to develop connections throughout the business and build their personal brand.
