After being on hold for a few years due to COVID, BrewCon was back for 2023.
The Independent Brewers Association's (IBA) conference is one of the biggest events in Australia's beer calendar hosted over two consecutive days (21-23 August) at the Gold Coast Convention & Exhibition Centre.
Brewcon provided a unique opportunity for brewers and suppliers to network and discover brewing trends to get eyes on new technology, learn about efficiencies - and most importantly tasting.
The program lineup included free-to-attend workshops and presentations from a host of industry speakers and new equipment suppliers, with a focus on providing value-add for everyone in the brewery.
Exhibiting at Brewcon 2023, the insignia brewer’s solution showcased an innovative use of existing technology: Domino’s G Series Thermal Inkjet Printer in combination with twist blocks to print date codes directly onto the curve – or chime, of the aluminium can, on a single line.
Best of all, the G Series is easy to integrate and uses specialised inks for Grade A code readability, combined with excellent print adhesion for permanent coding and traceability. Thermal Inkjet is the great technology fit for harsh production environments like brewing due to its:
• Low cost of ownership
• Service-free capability
• Small footprint

Entry-level or startup brewers can combine this with a desktop labeller and scanner, logistics and SSCC labels, BarTender barcoding software for complete coding capabilities.
