Breaking News from Chinville!
The World's Greatest Shave event was held on Wednesday 5 April at the Winson Group. Fellow Chinions Rodney, Wayne, Chris, Ron, Craig and Aerin bravely offered to have their heads shaved by their colleagues, and a number of staff from the office and warehouse had their hair coloured in support of this cause.
insignia and Signet have been proud supporters of the Leukaemia Foundation's World's Greatest Shave for a number of years through our fundraising team, the Winson Group Lifeshavers. Through this team, we have a number of staff from insignia, Signet, and parent company the Winson Group volunteer to have their heads shaved or coloured to help raise funds for the Leukaemia Foundation.
More than 60,000 Australians are living with blood cancer or related disorders, and everyday another 35 Australians will be diagnosed and turn to the Leukaemia foundation for help. The Leukaemia Foundation is the only Australia-wide charity dedicated to the care and cure of people with leukaemia, lymphoma, myeloma and related blood disorders.
Although research has improved survival rates, sadly an Australian loses their life to blood cancer every two hours. That is why ongoing research is critical.
Getting sponsored to shave, colour or wax the hair on your head, chest or face, is an extraordinary way to help families facing the challenge of blood cancer and to help Australia's best researchers.
To date, through online contributions and prize raffles, the Winson Group has donated a hair-raising $5204. Donations can still be made online until Friday 30 June, so if you would like to make a donation please visit the Winson Group Fundraising Page. No matter how much you give, it is an extraordinary way to make a difference.
The money the Lifeshavers have raised will go towards research, which is needed to discover kinder and more effective treatments for blood cancer. It will also support families when they need it most, providing people with leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma with a free home-away-from-home near hospital during their treatment.
Your donation will also mean that the Leukaemia Foundation can transport them to appointments and provide as much practical assistance and emotional support as they can, all free of charge.
Well done to our team for supporting this worthy cause!
