AUSPACK 2015 in review

Last month insignia participated in AUSPACK, the largest packaging and machinery trade event in Australia. This year marked AUSPACK's 30th anniversary, and a record-breaking 7,332 unique visitors came to inspect over 1,200 brands from 385 exhibitors showcasing the latest machinery, innovations and technology from around the world.

Our team was proud to demonstrate our full suite of products and technologies; from laser coders and product & blank label samples to thermal label printers, continuous inkjet printers, and print & apply technology to thermal transfer overprinting technology and thermal inkjet printers.

Throughout the show we offered two product giveaways to the visitors at AUSPACK – the first was laser-coded insignia pens, showing off the Domino Laser Coder; the second was a packet of jellybeans with a personalised overprint label, showcasing our label manufacturing capabilities, label printers and software all in an integrated bundle. These were a big hit with the visitors to our stand, with many making return trips to see and do it all again!

AUSPACK 2015 marked the first time we brought our sister company Signet onto our stand, and was something we felt could offer a lot of value for the manufacturing industry. Signet chose to demonstrate the Siat F1-LP pallet wrapper with our Domino Mectec M-Series label applicator – it was a great opportunity to show how a print and apply label applicator could work in conjunction with a pallet wrapper for tertiary packaging applications.

During the show insignia and Signet collaborated to host a seminar 'How to implement sustainable Lean Culture in Tertiary Packaging Operations, with insights from industry experts'. We were fortunate to have both Peter Buriani from LINFOX and Angel Hernandez from Thong Guan present to the group with advice and case studies from their own experiences.

All in all AUSPACK 2015 was a fantastic show, and it was great to see our team members take advantage of the quieter afternoons to learn some new skills outside their key areas of expertise! Suffice to say we won't have a shortage of in-house Laser experts! AUSPACK 2015 was a great success, and we hope to see you in Sydney for AUSPACK 2017.
