Letter from the Executive General Manager
Welcome to the thirteenth edition of ‘insight’!
I’m pleased to announce that our national label manufacturing facility in Brisbane is now HACCP certified. HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) is an important certification for insignia and ensures we can better support our customers in food manufacturing with the assurance of our high standards for quality and compliance with strict food safety standards.
We also recently attended the Labelexpo events in Brussels and Shanghai, held late 2019. Labelexpo is a major international event series for labelling and packaging, with attendees from 140 countries visiting the Brussels event alone. Amid the technological innovations, a major theme of both events was sustainability and the introduction of both recyclable or reusable materials, and options for manufacturers to eliminate the waste from the process altogether – for example through linerless labels. It’s positive to see the innovation in this space at a truly international event, and is a reminder that manufacturers globally need to be thinking critically about the waste created throughout production, and how materials or processes can be adapted to reduce the waste eventually sent to landfill.
